Pathways To Nature Conservation Fund - Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

$100,000 plus $100,000 in local matching funds. Project completion anticipated by late 2005.

Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge has been designated a Globally Important Bird Area, is part of the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network and is designated as one of the top ten birding Hotspots by the National Audubon Society.

Beach Road Trail Project
The extended Beach Road Trail bike path features new and refurbished interpretive kiosks and wayside exhibits to tell the story of the refuge and its inhabitants. A wildlife photography blind provides visitors with the opportunity for close observation and photographing the refuge wildlife.
